Dentures are a removable set of prosthetic teeth designed to replace either a full arch of teeth, or to fill in a space left by several missing teeth. They are a popular way to replace missing or damaged teeth, and can have a beneficial impact on both the oral health, and the smile of the patient.
Living with missing or damaged beyond repair teeth can be difficult. This is especially true if you are missing several teeth as it can not only affect your ability to eat and speak, but also severely damage your smile confidence. If you have trouble eating your favourite things – or avoid certain food completely – or try not to smile with your mouth open because of missing or visibly damaged teeth, then dentures could be the answer.
There are a variety of different dentures available to patients, and they can be made of different materials including acrylic and cobalt chrome. We’ll be able to offer advice on which is most suitable for you during a consultation.
What is the difference between full and partial dentures?
Full dentures replace a full arch of teeth on either the upper or lower jaw. Partial dentures can be used to replace a gap of several missing teeth in the smile.
