At Diamond Dental Care, we believe in starting children off on the right track when it comes to their overall oral health. That’s why we offer comprehensive care for children from a young age, right through to their teens and early adulthood. By building this foundation of good oral health, we know we can help them well into the future.
You should bring your child into see a dentist when their first tooth erupts, or by the time they turn one – whichever comes first. During these first, early appointments our team will be able to assess their oral health and offer any advice that’s needed. Bringing them here to see us will also help acclimatise them to the dentist, and hopefully stop any dental phobias or anxieties from arising.
We recommend that children visit us here for check-ups once a year. This is especially important once they have turned five which is when their permanent teeth will start to come through. At this point, we’ll want to keep a close eye on their development, as well as help maintain their oral health with any additional treatments as needed.
Aside from their regular check-ups, the most common treatments we offer for children at Diamond Dental Care are fissure sealants and fluoride treatments. Children can also sometimes develop decay, which can lead to the need for fillings. With good preventive care, however, and regular check-ups we should be able to help stop this from happening.
Yes, we specialise in orthodontics at Diamond Dental Care, and are able to provide orthodontic treatment to children on-site. Our teeth straightening specialist, Dr Payal Sharma will be able to guide children on their orthodontic journey and we can offer both metal and ceramic braces for children.
One of the most important things you can do at home is to encourage their dental and oral care, and to develop an at-home care routine they stick to. This includes brushing their teeth twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste, as well as flossing. Our team will also be able to offer advice on home care routines and may also recommend lifestyle changes such as cutting down on sugar to help promote their health.
